Monica Fitzgerald, PhD
Monica Fitzgerald, PhD. is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado-Boulder. Dr. Fitzgerald is a licensed clinical psychologist and her clinical and research interests focus on the impact of child abuse and trauma exposure on children’s psychosocial and emotional adjustment and the implementation of evidence-based, trauma-focused interventions in community service settings. She is the Director of the Evidence Based Practice Training Initiative and leads SAMHSA-funded National Child Traumatic Stress Network projects focusing on dissemination and implementation of evidence based practices and programs. Dr. Fitzgerald conducts federally funded intervention research on Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has completed ‘train-the trainer’ programs in TF-CBT and Abuse-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT). She regularly conducts trainings and provides consultation and implementation support for these models nationally and internationally.
